Chill Your Laptop Computer With a Great Cooling Pad

Have you ever experienced lifting your laptop after using for several hours and feel the extreme heat it transmitted on the table? You might even begin to worry if the electronic components inside was able to withstand the interior heat. Your worries may be well grounded because laptop components can withstand heat only up to a certain degree. Too much interior heat is caused by a lot of factors. There is a way, however, to chill your laptop in order for the heat to disappear. You can do this with the use of a great cooling pad.

One of the foremost reasons why laptop computers manage to generate extreme heat is sometimes because of its ineffective case cooling system. Perhaps the designers placed too much emphasis on the overall aesthetics of the laptop computer that maybe they forgot to consider the heat factor. There are some laptop computers which are so thin that the case fan which was placed inside was more of an ornament rather than a cooling system. In most cases, this tiny fan is the first to go due to its inability to handle the heat. Once the critical air flow is stopped, overheating follows, causing your laptop computer to slow down to a crawl until it ultimately stops from working.

It is a good thing that you can now chill your laptop with a great cooling pad. This pad is placed directly beneath your laptop and is attached to it through one of its USB ports. This great cooling pad has several fans inside it that cools the laptop computer to comfortable levels. There are two versions of these laptop pads. One is designed to draw heat away from the bottom of the computer, while the other version is designed to blow cool air towards the laptop by the use of its powerful fans.

cooling pad for laptop c

The great thing about these pads is they are designed in a way your laptop computer would really be cool after just a few minutes. In the case of the cooling pad which draws heat from the laptop, the heat is sucked by the powerful blowers then transferred right away at the bottom of the cooling pad to be immediately disposed of at its lower side. This type of cooling pad also allows cool air to come in through the upper portion of the pad, effectively taking out the heat that is being generated by the laptop.

In the case of the other version of the cooling pad, it sucks in cool air from its lower sides and blows that towards the bottom surface of the laptop computer. In doing so, it also pushes the heat out through the upper side of the pad.

These cooling pads are handy accessories to have with your laptop particularly if your internal cooling fan is starting to fail. Who knows, these cooling pads may yet save your laptop computer from experiencing total hardware failure.

4 Ultimate Tips on Increasing Laptop Battery Life

Battery life is one of the most important aspects people look at when buying laptop computers. The longer the battery lasts, the more work you can get done away from a power source. Therefore, it is important to take steps to reduce power consumption, and increase the overall life span of the battery.

1.Switch-off Wi-Fi and/or Bluetooth when you don’t use it.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drain your battery power fast. When you are not connecting to a wireless network and any bluetooth device, try to switch off both to save your battery power.

2.Draw less power when using your laptop.

The more applications you run on your laptop, and the higher your power settings, the more the battery will drain during use. Running fewer programs at one time, and changing power settings, such as reducing the brightness of the display, will extend battery life. Running graphically intensive programs like games is especially hard on batteries, since graphics cards draw large amounts of power, and generate a lot of heat.

replacement laptop battery

3.Do Away with unused peripherals.

Computer peripherals such as mice, external hard disk drives and external optical drives need electricity to run. When you are done using these equipments, unplug them from the system so they will no longer drain battery power. Laptops have a touchpad so you can actually work without a mouse.

4.Avoid extreme temperatures.

Laptop batteries are designed to function properly within a set range of temperature. Avoid using or charging your laptop in hot or cold conditions. Likewise, laptops normally run more efficiently when it is cooler. Try to keep the internal temperature down by keeping the fan free and clear for proper ventilation.

Laptop Review – Dell Vostro 1320

Similar to other Dell laptops, the Dell Vostro 1320 is flexible and easily customizable. The potential buyer has several configuration options and a whole range of specifications to choose from.

The Dell Vostro 1320 may be considered bland on the style department. It will absolutely fail to stand out in a sea of black box-type laptops. It is glossy, which is the most that we can say about the design. Regardless, it shouldn’t turn off any buyer from considering its other features.

At 13.3", the Dell Vostro 1320 has a screen that’s larger than others in its segment. Besides, Dell gave the interested buyer the choice between a regular LCD or the TrueLife version, which boasts a glossy finish.

With a weight of less than 5 pounds, this laptop is convenient to carry around. If the user’s lifestyle or work requires that the laptop be portable then this fits the bill.

SPECS AVAILABLE OPTIONS

CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T9550 (2.66 GHz, 6 MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB)

RAM – Up to 8GB6 Dual Channel 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM7

Screen Size – 13.3" Widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800) Anti-Glare Display, 13.3" WXGA (1280 x 800) Display with TrueLifeTM

Operating System – Genuine Windows Vista Ultimate, Business, Home Premium, Ultimate with Downgrade Rights Service to Windows XP Professional, and Business with Downgrade Rights Service to Windows XP Professional, FreeDOS operating systems

Battery Life – At least 4 hours

Graphics – Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD, 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS Graphic Card

Pros

The Dell Vostro 1320 offers much comfort to the user. The keyboard’s size is just enough for typing to be done easily. The keys bounce back quickly and are very responsive. The touchpad is also a delight to use because it’s sensitive and has high precision.

What we like most about this laptop is that it doesn’t build up much heat at all. Therefore, you can use it as long as you want without being bothered by the heat and without having to bring along a cooler pad in the bag as well.

Cons

dell notebook laptop computers

Don’t expect that gaming using the Dell Vostro 1320 would be a terrific experience. At most, this laptop can be used for the older games that aren’t as intense with the graphics as the latest ones. This laptop should be left out of the consideration if the user is a hardcore gamer.

We also found a flaw in the speaker setup. We think its designer may have failed to think about the position of the speakers. The speakers are at the bottom rather than on top of the monitor where it should be. This just isn’t ideal when in a videoconference or when viewing movies.

Conclusion

The features of the Dell Vostro 1320 are designed for business and we think that Dell did a good job at fulfilling the requirements. While we think that it should have been given better styling, business people might not like the distraction of having an overly styled laptop. It’s a satisfactory laptop for the price that Dell is selling it for.

Laptop Review – HP Envy 15

The Hewlett-Packard Envy 15 series offers all the features found in a desktop computer but at a fraction of its size. The name of this laptop is fitting since it does catch the stares of most people who see it. But since this laptop’s pricier than most of its contemporaries, it’s best we take a close look at the features to see if they’re worth the cost.

We start off to see where the Envy 15 gets its power. Its 1.6GHz Intel Core processor and a capacity of up to 16-gigabytes of random access memory space are remarkable. In addition, it does have the Windows 7 operating system so it definitely much that we can do with this laptop.

The Envy 15’s connectivity is extensive and should have what every user needs. For instance, it can be used as a home server and to create a network for the computers in the household. File and data sharing can be supported by this laptop.

SPECS AVAILABLE OPTIONS

CPU – Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-720QM Processor (1.6GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB), Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-820QM Processor (1.73GHz, 8MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB)

RAM – 6GB-16GB DDR3

Screen Size – 15.6" diagonal Full High Definition LED HP Ultra Brightview Widescreen Display (1920×1080), 15.6" diagonal High Definition LED HP Brightview Widescreen Display (1366×768)

Operating System – Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, Professional 64-bit

Battery Life – 7.25 hours (manufacturer’s estimate)

Graphics – Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD, 256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS Graphic Card

Pros

notebook computers laptop

Some people might wrongly conclude that upgradeability is not a feature that is as valuable as the other specs when in fact, it should be foremost on every user’s criteria. The Envy 15 can be upgraded to suit a change in the user’s requirements or to open up a whole lot of possibilities. Customization is a feature of the Envy 15 that is most sought after.

This laptop’s 15.6-inch screen is larger than most laptops and since it allows for high-definition viewing, you’re assured to have a great time watching videos. The screen size is also perfect for those who compare documents or those who do photo or video editing and want to have the highest detail possible.

The Envy 15 can be connected to an external device and so viewing can be done on a different computer monitor or on HDTV.

Cons

The Envy 15 can get to be as hot as 40 degrees Celsius even during an idle mode. This is a matter that we hope HP would have done something about. It’s distressful having to mind the heat especially when the user plans to leave it on for longer periods of time.

Conclusion

Despite its first-rate specifications and features, some might prefer to take a pause before making the purchase. The heat is a problem but if you don’t mind bringing along a cooler pad, then that fixes it. The HP Envy is recommended due to its superior features in a package that’s reasonably priced.

Top 5 Most Important Computer Parts

Every extreme computer user chooses each part individually. They know which part has to be extremely fast for their individual needs and which part can be just fast or even mediocre. But for beginners or people who are doing research at the moment to decide their next purchase, here is a list of the top 5 most important computer parts.

5. GPU
GPUNvidia and ATI will tell you it makes the number one difference in your computer, they are lying. It makes the number 5 biggest difference in your computer and that’s why it’s in our number 5 spot obviously. The GPU, also known as graphics card or video card, will help your computer generating 3D textures and images. So basically everything you see is generated by your GPU but most can be done by any GPU. The difference between a good one and a bad one is the speed it renders 3D images and textures in. So this includes games, graphic design and intensive 3d works. Especially if you’re a gamer, please don’t neglect this part of your computer.

4. Memory.
Wait when did I put this in? Anyway I guess it can be because multi-tasking is the number one thing we’re doing these days. We’re opening 3 internet explorers, a video, we’re downloading and having Adobe Photoshop running in the background. All these applications are taking memory and when it is full, it is full. This means you can open no more without your computer slowing down or even freezing temporarily. It is something we should seriously look at when buying a new PC. Keep in mind your needs and budget.

3. CPU
The speediest windows experience can only be reached with a cpu that packs serious speed. It makes things open faster, run smoother, and will enhance the graphics experience. Like with the memory it is important to sync your needs and budget to go for a proper processor. Go for quad cores i you want to do serious multi-tasking. Go for dual core if you are less of a multi-tasker and would like a cheaper CPU.

2. HDDs
For people who are less known with the shortcuts it means hard disk drive aka the gigabytes it mentions in the my computer screen. When you run out, you’re out. To ensure you can store all your data for years to come, make a list of things you expect to store. and double it for a more future proof system. 1 TB drives are as cheap as $70 these days to don’t be afraid to go optimistic with the GBs.

1. Motherboard
motherboardAh yes it is the mother of all computer parts. It is the mothership of all greatness. The cream and foundation of every nice ice cream. Should I go on with these? I’ve got many more. The motherboard is the most important part of every computer because it is one of the sole deciders what you can put in your computer and to some extend how great it works together. If you buy the wrong motherboard, it will limit you in your processor, memory, HDD, cooler and GPU choice. So without an doubt it is the most important part of your pc and you should pick one with care always.

So there you have it. 5 parts you should look at with care when buying a new computer. Of course there’re other parts but these are the most important, vital, decisions you must make before opening your wallet.

Computer Parts – No More a Hidden Business

Computer parts are an important peripheral for any business houses today. Computer hardware is the physical part of a computer, including the digital circuitry.

Computer Parts Online

For looking for computer parts or electronics it is best to use a computer comparison site so that you can easily find the stores that sell the part you are looking forl.

Determining How to Pick the Right Laptop For You

There are so many brands of laptops to choose from that it’s often a difficult task to figure out which one is the right laptop for you. On the one hand, there are lots of choices, so you don’t have to compromise on features. On the other hand, no single laptop can possibly contain all of the features you’re looking for, so you might have to outline which ones are most important to you.

Here are some great tips of some techniques to help you choose the perfect lap top for your needs. Begin by starting with the most unique features, like a full keyboard, a solid display, high-quality performance, and a good user-friendly interface.

If you determine your needs include having a full keyboard complete with a number pad, you’ll trim down the number of lap tops you’ll have to choose from. Quite honestly, very few lap tops come with an entire keyboard such as the type you’d use on PC’s, partially due to the immense amount of real estate it takes up on the laptop. In general, if the keyboard is big, the laptop in turn is big, and it’s heavier and less convenient to carry around. However, if you need it for work, don’t compromise the full keyboard feature.

Now let’s talk about the quality of the display. Some lap tops come with chintzy screens and have a very plastic appearance. This makes them virtually impossible to be read in direct sunlight, let alone overhead lighting. If this is something that bothers you, try increasing the price bracket you’re willing to spend on a laptop and go with a quality LCD screen for better performance.

Let’s take a peek at some of the performance characteristics of a good lap top. For a fast laptop, get one with enough of a memory capacity to make it worthwhile. You’re far better off getting this kind of lap top online than in a retail store or even the mall if you’re looking for a quality, long-lasting laptop with great memory and performance capabilities.

Next you need to consider how user-friendly your computer should be. Quite a few of these come pre-loaded with fancy graphics cards for the website and graphic design developers while others are better equipped for entertainment. Look at the user reviews for each lap top to determine which has the best usability features for your needs.

If you use these tips to aid you in dictating which laptop will be the best for your needs, you’ll certainly make the laptop purchase that will serve you very well for many years.

Buying Used Laptops For Sale – What You Want to Know

Today, you can find used laptops everywhere. One of the most vital jobs to do is identify where you can find the best deal to buy that used laptop for sale that you need when there are many options to buy from. The first thing to do is to limit your options to arrive to that PC that most closely fits you.

The neatest thing to do is to purchase your laptop from a trustworthy and trustworthy dealer. It is awfully engaging to buy the portable from a classified ad at a particularly low cost. The serious downside is that you don’t have any security if something goes belly up with the laptop that you have just purchased. At least purchasing from a credible dealer can give you some cushion to rely on and if you purchase a refurbished PC they also usually come with a 6 month warranty.

used laptopThe very first thing that you need to do is to approve is that the used laptop for sale still works in the way that you would like it to work. Since these are 2nd hand machines, probabilities are these won’t be functioning as trustworthy and fast as you need these to be.

Ensure that the laptop is at most three years old as purchasing older laptops would clearly have older specifications and sometimes they can be too slow to run even a simple browser. Also ask the vendor to have the operation system either be a windows or a linux to be installed again from scratch as this to speed up the portable’s speed and above all you are getting a clean system.

If you want to use the laptop away from your place a lot ensure that the battery has still some juice in it and at least can offer you reasonable operating time on battery power. As it would not make no sense to have a battery that does not keep any charge. Also replacing such battery can be dearer than your used computer.

Also check the computer comes with a power supply unit and it is in good working condition. Make sure that when you have the wire inserted there are no loose connections. Note that besides the battery a new power supply unit can awfully costly.

One last thing to check with your seller is that the laptop doesn’t have any particular glitches, such as to boot it up would need to press the power button in a particular way or in a certain sequence. Also make sure that there are no passwords in to start up the laptop or there are no passwords set in the BIOS also.

Follow the above points and you’ll on the right method to get that used laptop for sale that you are after.

How to Monitor CPU Temperature?

Too much heat damages electronics. Monitoring your CPU temperature and other computer components is very important because it can help you keep those electronics from running properly. To appropriately use most program of this type, you need to be sure that you have enabled you ACPI functionality the motherboard BIOS.

Why is Central Process Unit (CPU) Temperature very Important?

CPUWhen the former affordable computers came out to the public, system designers and engineers took in consideration what heat was released by these system components and ensured that the cooling and case designs handle the proper amount of heat so the instability or system damage was seldom an issue. These computers weren’t very configurable, and couldn’t easily be customized or modified by end user, except for number of floppy device storage and memory limits. Peripherals were mostly external, so they did not really add heat problems to its base system. On the other hand, those peripherals that were internal produce low bandwidth technologies and low power. This was good enough to the public at that time since people did not have the basic skill and knowledge sets needed to modify or customize their computers.

During the 1990’s, at the time when there were lots of big advances in bus, microprocessor, and solid-state electronics as a group, the original offers were changed. More sellers were providing computer components and peripherals joined to particular user requirements and needs, the manufacturing system started to determine that there was an important market in the aftermarket sales of specialized peripherals, and those technology to offer faster and smaller processing solid-state electronic components took off.

A lot more system capacities were incorporated into the motherboard system without increasing the size, integrating high speed I/O buses, memory buses, and high fidelity sound, as well as current technologies such as DMA shared and transfers memory systems.

Innovative advances in OS that are multi-processing and multi-user started to be available in the desktop computer market. OS were becoming a lot more capable, and much more customizable the same as time went on. Sadly, there was this price, additional cooling that was required in order to keep the OS stable. When larger supplies of power were installed to manage additional components, and solid-state circuit got smaller and smaller. Then the output of heat from minor and major components was increasing gradually. At the same time, users desired smaller and smaller CPU cases to recover some of their floor and desk space.

In the late 1990’s, the temperature bubble burst. Innovative high-performance components were turning out to be simpler to include into an open system, the sellers offering motherboards were making more flexible designs that allows users to add much more capacities even without purchasing a new system. Finally, the biggest change happened, high-quality graphics capacities were arising onto the market. People were truly customizing their computers and modifying their system to meet specific needs and goals.

How do I monitor CPU temperature?

Understand more facts about overheating and how the CPU monitoring temperature could prevent it and find ways of checking CPU temperature and keep potential problems at this page.

How to Monitor Your CPU Temperature in Windows 7

So you are wondering how HOT your CPU is, how can you find it out ? Well there are basically 2 ways. 1. You can find out your CPU temperature prior you boot.

How to Keep Dust From Destroying Your Computer

Remember the days when a computer room used to be the sanctum of pure air and a dust-free zone? All carpeted and air-conditioned? Today you have your computer in your den and your laptop lying on the floor. Does that mean that your computer is susceptible to malfunctioning? Yes, it is! Although computers today are better-built, saves power and generates less heat, still no computer is immune to dust and dirt. It is thus of paramount importance that you keep your computer clean in order to ensure that it functions properly.

What will dust cause?

dust in computer partsDust will affect the most important part of your computer – the fan that keeps your central processing unit – CPU cool. Dust lodges itself on the fan blades and clogs it resulting into excessive heat generation. The fan then fails to cool the CPU which may eventually completely stop the working of the computer. A partially functioning fan due to dust clogging will make your computer work harder with less output but a definitely higher electricity bill. So yes, you would want to stay off the dust!

So what are the precautions?

You can follow these steps in order to clean dust from the fan of your computer. Keep the computer in a dust-free environment. Avoid smoking in front of your computer. Nicotine and tar residue harm the computer. Try dusting it very regularly and use a CPU cover if need be. Also it is a good idea to keep your computer in a cold environment. Even if air-conditioning is not possible, try keeping it away from the sun, or near open windows. That being said, do not keep your computer in a closed area either. This may heat up the CPU and make it work harder.

A casual dusting of the keyboard, the monitor or cleaning up the mouse will also help in the long run. Remember dust accumulates in the mouse ball and makes the mouse interactivities quite difficult.

However even after you have taken all the precautions, dust will still accumulate on the fan. There is no alternative to regular cleaning.

So how do you clean the fan?

Open up the back of your CPU. Use a can of compressed air and an anti-static cloth to clean the dust. Hold the can vertically and spray air such that dust is not sprayed on other parts of the CPU and the circuits. Now use the anti-static cloth to clean off the dust.

Do not attempt to use a vacuum cleaner as that might cause static electricity and may also draw in any loose wiring. Adopt a liquid free dusting method and do not use any oil-based cleansing agent.

If you are not comfortable with cleaning it yourself then drop it at a service center. It generally does not cost a fortune. To keep your computer running in a good condition and to give it a longer life, keep dust off your computer. Do not ignore the maintenance of your computer, even in the busy life find out time to clean your computer.

Top 5 Steps to a Healthy Running Computer

Always keep your computer and the surrounding area clean and dust-free. Dust particles easily penetrate the internal components of the computer and cause physical damage.

Ten Ways to Keep Your PC Clean and Healthy

Thus, you should also be more knowledgeable of the different problems related to the computer power that you use. Remove all the clutters in your computer area. Also, dust should also be avoided as it may be the cause of overheating.

Advice For Keeping Your Computer Healthy

Another simple problem for users to resolve may come as a surprise: dust bunnies. Just as dust finds its way into the strangest places in your car, it also winds up inside your computer case where it can build up.
