Laptop Review – HP Envy 15

The Hewlett-Packard Envy 15 series offers all the features found in a desktop computer but at a fraction of its size. The name of this laptop is fitting since it does catch the stares of most people who see it. But since this laptop’s pricier than most of its contemporaries, it’s best we take a close look at the features to see if they’re worth the cost.

We start off to see where the Envy 15 gets its power. Its 1.6GHz Intel Core processor and a capacity of up to 16-gigabytes of random access memory space are remarkable. In addition, it does have the Windows 7 operating system so it definitely much that we can do with this laptop.

The Envy 15’s connectivity is extensive and should have what every user needs. For instance, it can be used as a home server and to create a network for the computers in the household. File and data sharing can be supported by this laptop.

Pros

Some people might wrongly conclude that upgradeability is not a feature that is as valuable as the other specs when in fact, it should be foremost on every user’s criteria. The Envy 15 can be upgraded to suit a change in the user’s requirements or to open up a whole lot of possibilities. Customization is a feature of the Envy 15 that is most sought after.

This laptop’s 15.6-inch screen is larger than most laptops and since it allows for high-definition viewing, you’re assured to have a great time watching videos. The screen size is also perfect for those who compare documents or those who do photo or video editing and want to have the highest detail possible.

The Envy 15 can be connected to an external device and so viewing can be done on a different computer monitor or on HDTV.

Cons

The Envy 15 can get to be as hot as 40 degrees Celsius even during an idle mode. This is a matter that we hope HP would have done something about. It’s distressful having to mind the heat especially when the user plans to leave it on for longer periods of time.

Conclusion

Despite its first-rate specifications and features, some might prefer to take a pause before making the purchase. The heat is a problem but if you don’t mind bringing along a cooler pad, then that fixes it. The HP Envy is recommended due to its superior features in a package that’s reasonably priced.

Laptop Stands – What Are the Main Types?

I guess you already know what a laptop stand is: a kind of mobile desk that sits between your lap and your laptop keeping heat away from body’s sensible zones and helps you achieve a better working position while using a mobile computer.

Now it’s time to find out how many types of laptop stands are there and what makes them different from each other. So without further due I give you the list:

Desktop laptop stands: those are stands meant for those people who use a laptop for work purposes while standing at a desk. Those types have the purpose of raising the screen closer to your eyes level and angle the keyboard so that your hands sit on a straight angle with your palms and fingers while typing

Portable stands: you’re using these while sitting on a chair, bed or sofa and help distantiate the bottom of the laptop from your lap this lowering that uncomfortable temperature and increasing cooling effect of the laptop, which also results in lower noise during operation and better reliability.

folding laptop stands

Rolling stands are like furniture with wheels and act like a smaller desk that you move around the house so you can work like at the office while sitting on a sofa for example

Cooling laptop stands: have the function of cooling the bottom of hot laptops achieving that with the use of a larger cooler that blows cool air from the room onto the hot parts of your mobile computer. They are usually powered by USB ports, thus not affecting mobility

Laptop stands with peripherals: increase functionality by adding stereo speakers, webcam and other ports for your convenience.

There are the most important types of laptop stands on market today but other types are expected to hit shelves soon as new IT&C standards come to life.

Laptop Cooling Stands Keep Your Setup Cool

A laptop cooling stand can be a wonderful purchase that will give you long and useful service, but only if you get the right one. Acquiring one has different factors to look at, the first one is to be positive that it can prevent your computer from over heating. You’ll really want to do this because you could have hardware failure. If you do not bother to keep your computer cool, then you risk the possibility of losing your important data that’s on there. Another critical factor when getting a laptop cooling stand is to figure out if you want a foldable stand.

laptop coolimg standIt’s imperative that you get something that blows cool air under your notebook because this can avoid having your computer get too hot. If you make sure that you get a device that circulates air around your laptop, then you should be all right. It’s not necessary to buy a unit that offers an attached keyboard just to have a unit that will do what you want. What you really need to do is keep to your spending plan and really try to get a device that isn’t smaller than your notebook. Avoid the frustration of getting a notebook cooling pad by getting a device with too many extras, just be sure to buy a cooler that has plenty of access to the side of your computer. Have you investigated putting a book under your notebook while you have it on? You will find that this can be a short term solution to overheating.

In fact, if you prevent your computer from getting too hot, then you will see that you will never find all your data gone ever again. When you are ready to buy a laptop cooling stand, adhere to these tips to keep your laptop from getting overly hot.
